This past Monday, Bungie released an infosplosion of news regarding their upcoming game, Destiny. Major media outlets have written articles about Destiny’s gameplay from hands on experience with the game after going to Bungie studios a few weeks ago. A lot of people are excited for this game coming out on September 9th of this year, including myself, but for certain reasons.
There are those who are on the “hype” train for Destiny eagerly awaiting for the full story to be told for this new universe. Destiny has made the most anticipated game of the year for a few web sites including Digital Trends, Metacritic, etc. and even making IGN’s most anticipated shooter voted on by its readers. I, however, am not on this hype train for a number of reasons, but mainly because of the lack of information that we have about the actual story behind Destiny.
Bungie have always been good story tellers and experts at making fun and immersive games from a single and multiplayer experience. While I understand the desire to keep most of the story under wraps as they let gamers realize for themselves what’s going on, there’s a lack of longing to find out the mysteries behind Destiny for me. I, myself, am not alone in my “un-hypeness” for Destiny, which instigated me starting a new show.
For my inaugural episode of the Dusty Bit Radio, I have the pleasure of having one of my good gaming friends, Mandy Paez aka. Lady Luck from Gamertag Radio to talk about our feelings on Destiny as it stands today.
